Respecting and reconciling the wisdom of nature and the aspirations of the people who come here, the vigilius mountain resort uses architectural means to focus attention on the things that really matter. Conceived as a place of sophisticated simplicity, the design hotel blends into the forests and meadows and blurs the boundaries between architecture and nature through the materials used. Larch wood, large-scale glass elements, natural stone and clay create the desired aesthetic design language – modern and rustic at the same time.

The foundation of vigilius mountain resort is its ecological attitude. This is the first Klimahaus-A certified hotel in Italy and its promise to nature is reflected in every detail – not least the thoughtful, natural materials used. Despite the exposed location, its construction allows for very low heating demand. It was always the intention to heat the hotel with biomass, using wood chips from mountain farmers in the immediate vicinity. This is just one of the many ways we work in harmony with our closest surroundings – for a symbiosis of modern design, comfort, and sustainability.

It’s my first trip without Lucy. I see traces of her everywhere I look. The girl who stands in line in front of me at the check-in counter wears a scarf just like the one Lucy used to wear, black, dotted with white skulls and bones. One of the TSA guards has a tattoo just like Lucy’s, a serpent eating its own tail. The duty-free shop is plastered with posters promoting Coco Noir, Lucy’s favorite perfume. In buy a bottle. Old habits die hard. The guy who sits next to me on the plane wears a Breitling Blackbird. That’s the watch Lucy bought for herself when she landed her first big deal. It’s a man’s watch, way too big for Lucy’s wrist, but she didn’t care. She wore it like a medal. I don’t think she ever took it off. At the baggage claim, I see a trolley just like Lucy’s gliding by, white with black wheels. I could go on, but I won’t. You get the point. I miss her…

The St. Bernhard-Dachshund

Bella, the female St. Bernhard who belonged to the vigilius owners, often played with the children of guests currently visiting the mountain resort, a pastime which included generous amounts of jumping around along with stretching her legs out long while letting herself be scratched. Whenever she was not playing, she enjoyed a certain predilection for extended walks, with others or even alone…

I wouldn’t normally have an ice cream but the raspberry ripple at the wee cafe down at the harbour is so tempting. I like the girl that serves there, too. You’d expect somebody that gorgeous to be really stuck-up but she’s nice. I can’t say her name and she can’t pronounce mine properly either. “You vacation alone, Treeesh?” She’s got these huge dark eyes and skin the colour of toffee and slinky, wavy hair. People just aren’t that beautiful back home in Scotland…

The men stood motionlessly around the lake. Quietly, almost cautiously they had made their way as lumbering shapes here, one after the other, sometimes alone or in small groups. Even from Pawigl and naturally from Partschins they had come up here, whispering or murmuring to themselves, with earnest expressions full of fear and awe and their looks carried the mark of the unknown…

Meeting rooms

The relaxed atmosphere amidst nature invites you to brainstorm new ideas and advance current topics. The meeting and seminar spaces at vigilius mountain resort can accommodate up to 80 people and provide direct access to terraces and a paradise garden with views of the Dolomites.

Library

The nearly six meters high, bright, and open library at vigilius mountain resort with a direct connection to nature frees the mind, only to then inspire it anew. In this atmosphere, at this special place, great ideas come to life.

Indoor and Outdoor

The wooden terrace can be used for aperitifs in good weather, for toasting a round birthday, or for catching a breath after the bridal dance. We are happy to assist in making every celebration at 1500m an unforgettable highlight.

Good to know

Arrival & parking

The vigilius can only be reached by cable car. The route described above leads to the valley station of the Lana-Vigiljoch cable car. You can park your car free of charge in the vigilius parking garage behind the cable car building (parking lot no. 5). There are unscheduled rides for our guests at: 7 am, 8 am, 8.30 am, 6 pm, 7 pm, 8 pm, 9 pm, 10 pm, 10.30 pm, and 11 pm.

Luggage and cable car tickets

Luggage trolleys are available on the left side of the vigilius garage. You can pick up your tickets at the cable car counter, the staff are informed about your arrival. If you arrive outside the cable car opening hours, you will receive your tickets at the mountain station.

Transfer service

We are happy to assist you in booking transfers from the train station or airport to the cable car station. Please inform our reception team in advance.

E-charging stations

Our electric charging stations are located at the end of the parking garage and can be used with your own charging card for a fee. Please reserve a parking spot for your electric vehicle in advance.
